You’ll encounter a few small rapids as the Colorado River winds through the Gore Range and Mountain Ranchland. This is a relaxing day with time to sunbathe, swim or just relax and enjoy the day on your Colorado River rafting trip. The Colorado float half day trip is available two departures per day. This trip departs from our Kremmling Outpost, where you will check in and load an AVA vehicle for the 30-minute drive to the Colorado River. Experience the natural beauty of the Colorado River on our Upper Colorado Full Day Float trip! You’ll experience a gently flowing section of the Colorado River that is inviting to all ages. Here you’ll encounter a few small rapids as you winds through the Gore Range and mountain ranch land.
You’ll meet for our Upper Colorado Full Day trip from the quiet town of Kremmling and quickly immerse yourself in all that the Colorado wilderness has to offer you! Let your cares slowly melt by the wayside on this delightful full day adventure. Explore the breathtaking Colorado scenery or just kick your feet up during our lunch break on the river. Listen as your guide provides fascinating history and stories about the surrounding area and points out the historic mining cabins scattered along the riverside. Look for the natural hot spring nestled along the river’s bank and keep an eye out for the many birds and animals that are abundant in the area. The occasional passenger train will rumble by as sunbathe, slip into the river for a quick swim, or just relax on the raft.
24 HOURS ON THE UPPER COLORADO
This trip offers something for everyone! Enjoy wildlife, serenity, and natural beauty that only the Colorado River can offer. You’ll have plenty of time to take in historic cabins, scenic waterfalls, and steep canyon walls towering over 100′ above your head. Bald eagles, black bears, and the endangered Colorado river otter are often seen on this fun section of the river.
Radium hot springs offers an additional chance for relaxation. After arriving at camp, you’ll have plenty of time for hiking, fishing, fossil hunting, or just relaxing beside the river while your guides prepare a delicious and hearty dinner. Our 3 Day, 2 Night river rafting trip on the famous Colorado River is an experience you’ll never forget. Want a little extra excitement or independence on the Upper Colorado trip? Try our inflatable kayaks! You can explore the beauty of the Upper Colorado while splashing through the rapids in your own stable, rubber kayak! A guide will accompany you but you’ll paddle your own boat. This trip allows you to explore the beauty of the Upper Colorado River while splashing through the riffles at your pace. 1/2 STAND UP PADDLEBOARD
All the rage in river sports! Try the newest, most fun activity on the river – Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP)! A low-impact activity that’s easy for never-evers to learn, you’ll stand up or kneel on a large, surfboard-shaped board and steer with a long paddle as you navigate down the river.
This section of the Upper Colorado River – through Little Gore Canyon – is the perfect spot to try this adventure. The gentle Class II riffles and flat water create a good learning environment with the option for additional challenges if you’re up for it! There are a couple more adventurous Class II-III sections as well so it’s a great way to up the excitement a bit on our Upper Colorado Scenic Float.
