Our Clear Creek Intermediate whitewater rafting trip with dinner is a perfect example of one of these unique adventures. And it’s new this year!
This whitewater rafting trip meets at 5pm, making it the perfect addition to a lazy Saturday or add-on to a packed schedule. You’ll put in at the start of the intermediate section of Clear Creek. After a short warm-up where you’ll practice your paddling and learn to work as a team, you’ll charge through steep, technical, continuous Class IV whitewater. Your heart will be racing and your excitement will soar before the river mellows to a mix of fun and splashy Class II-III whitewater as you float through the town of Idaho Springs. This stretch will give you a chance to learn about the history of Idaho Springs and chat with your friendly guide.
After paddling through the rapids and enjoying the surrounding scenery, your group will have worked up quite the appetite; refuel with a delicious barbeque dinner on the banks of the river. Get ready for a hearty meal compliments of Smokin’ Yards BBQ, a local favorite in Idaho Springs know for mouth-watering barbeque. The meal will feature racks of ribs, prime rib, and all the fixins’ for you and your group. There’s no better conclusion to a thrilling white water adventure than a hot, hearty meal as soon as you get off the river!
The Clear Creek Dinner Trip is perfect for those seeking an all exciting evening adventure on the river as well as locals trying to plan around a full work week. The Clear Creek Dinner trip has limited availability and runs Saturday evenings during the summer from our Idaho Springs Outpost. You’ll raft both the Clear Creek Intermediate and Clear Creek Beginner sections before enjoying gourmet barbeque. Rafters must be at least 15 years old to participate and in good physical condition.
