Best Colorado Eateries Near AVA’S Outposts

Here at AVA Rafting & Zipline we love food almost as much as we love outdoor excursions.  Whether you’re spending your morning fly fishing outside of Kremmling, ziplining along the cliffside in Idaho Springs, or rafting some of the most famous whitewater rapids in Buena Vista, we can hook you up with the local hot spots in each area to get your fill of food and adventure.

Buena Vista, Colorado

Located about two and half hours southwest of Denver is AVA’s Buena Vista Outpost.  Our outpost is just a short drive north of the quaint mountain town of Buena Vista, and south of the charming town of Leadville.  You’ll definitely want to make a stop both before and after your adventure with AVA to fuel you up.

Evergreen Cafe

The perfect spot for a hot breakfast in Buena Vista is called the Evergreen Cafe.  This locally owned restaurant make you feel right at home, and the owner Barb sure knows how to whip up the perfect morning meal.  Located right off of the main street in Buena Vista, you’ll have to have this on your list of go-to’s while visiting the area.

High Mountain Pies

If you’re looking for a great lunch or dinner option, head north from AVA’s outpost to the town of Leadville.  This hidden gem is known by locals for it’s fantastic pizza.  At 10,152′ in elevation, the name High Mountain Pies is quite fitting.  During the summer months, there is a great backyard seating area to enjoy your pizza under the sun.  After a day of rafting, High Mountain Pies will make for the perfect snack before you venture back to wherever you’re staying.  Need lodging in the Buena Vista area?  Our outpost has cabins on site available to rent.  Ask one of our trip specialists next time you book an adventure!

Idaho Springs, Colorado

With our Idaho Springs Outpost located just half an hour west of Denver, there are plenty of options for an afternoon adventure away from the front range.  If you’re sticking around for the day, be sure to check out these awesome restaurants in the area.

Tommyknocker Brewery & Pub

Hop over to downtown Idaho Springs, just a quarter mile from AVA’s outpost, to this local brewery.  Tommyknocker‘s has been in the game for over two decades, and with a multitude of craft brews on tap you can’t go wrong.  The food at this pub is just as delightful as the beer, so be sure to head there hungry.

Smokin Yards BBQ

If you looking for something with a little more southern charm, Smokin Yards is your spot.  The locals have claimed this restaurant has the best ribs in town, and you’ll get the option to enjoy your lunch or dinner riverside.  If you venture out on AVA’s Outer Limits or Phoenix Full Day rafting trips, this delicious barbecue will be a pitstop on your excursion!

Kremmling, Colorado

Whether you’re spending your afternoon on horseback in the Rocky Mountains, or fly fishing for some trout in the Upper Colorado River, you’ll definitely want to keep some good grub in Kremmling, Colorado on your radar.
