Buena Vista sits smack in the middle of the longest chain of 14,000-foot peaks (15!) in the state of Colorado. Want to climb one? Most trailheads are an easy 10-30 minute drive from the town of Buena Vista.
Buena Vista is also home to the Eddyline Brewery, the Deerhammer Distilling Company, the Asian Palate, Brown Dog Café, the BV Roastery and several more yummy restaurants, coffee shop and drinking holes.
Because so many people come here to take advantage of the great outdoor recreation (particularly the whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River) it’s a fun and bustling place in the summer.
Camping options are unlimited: from commercial campgrounds to National Forest.

The Arkansas River runs right through town, and you can stroll or hike on trails that follow the river. Buena Vista rafting offers diverse river trips appropriate for first-timers all the way up to extreme adventures.
