Best Events in Denver this Summer

Denver Summer Events

Denver, being a major melting pot of culture and people, has no lack of community-wide events going on throughout the year. Summer is a big event season for Denver, and here are a few of the best events in Denver this summer.

June

The Asian Film Festival is the first noteworthy even kicking off the summer. I know there are plenty of people out there that will admit to being a fan of Asian culture and food. This festival features everything Asian, from food to film to general entertainment/performances.

The Greek Festival is next up on our list of can’t miss events. If you had the privilege of discovering Greek culture at any point in your life, then you probably know that this one is really not an event to miss out on. The wonderment of Greek culture has not yet reached as many as Asian culture has, but it is surely not lacking in a dynamic blend of culture that will surely amaze you.

The Summer Art Market  is an artistic utopia where students and artisans show off and sell their art in a neighborhood setting.

Other notable events include Pridefest, Film On The Rocks and Do At The Zoo.

July

July has even better surprises in store for you than June does!

Don’t miss out on some spectacular fireworks on the 4th of July! Go check out the Fourth of July Spectacular in Aurora. The best fireworks around are preceded by a number of live band performances while hanging out on the lawn of the Aurora Municipal Center.

If you missed the Art Market in June, don’t worry; The Cherry Creek Arts Festival is up next. Denver’s Cherry Creek North neighborhood hosts visual, performing and culinary artists along with vendor booths, family activities, and four stages of live entertainment including cooking demonstrations and live music.

On an equal, possibly greater note, we have a Brewfest in July. Mile High Station hosts over 45 state and local breweries offering over 125 Colorado crafted beers, accompanied by live entertainment, to celebrate the state’s craft beverages and to benefit the Swallow Hill Music Association.

August

As you may have guessed, Denver is very rich with artful minds. The Art From The Heart Festival features a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, libations, live music and more to benefit the Seniors’ Resource Center.

The Colorado State Fair will be in town in August. As you may have guessed, it will feature all the classic fun you would have at a fair; plus, more art exhibits!

The one I am most looking forward to is the Nutritarian Festival for Nutritional Research. The Aspen Club & Spa hosts lectures on nutrition by best selling authors on how a nutrition based diet can prevent and cure heart disease, diabetes, cancer and obesity will be featured, along with a fundraiser dinner catered by Aspen’s best restaurants and a Nutritarian Challenge Cookoff.

If at any point you decide you want to venture outside of Denver for a more ‘natural’ time, such as hiking, fishing, horseback riding or whitewater rafting, check out all that AVA Rafting & Zipline has to offer! Don’t wait to find something wild and exhilarating in Denver; that kind of fun is on the river!
