At AVA, we want you to have the experience of a lifetime and we want to ensure your safety every step of the way. We want every experience with us to exceed your expectations and to be a Professional, Exceptional Experience. We work very hard to achieve this goal. Because the best experience is a safe one!
The guides at AVA average 8 years of experience. In our industry, this is a very high number. All of our guides' training hours far surpass state regulations. Beside the state requirement of being First Aid and CPR certified, almost all of our guides are Swiftwater Rescue certified and very many of them are EMTs, Wilderness First Responders, or hold Outdoor Emergency Care certification.
The State of Colorado requires only 50 hours of training to be a river guide, however our new guide training gives our trainees almost three times this minimum requirement.
Before you embark on any of our activities you will hear a thorough safety talk to discuss various potential situations you may encounter and to teach you about what to do in those situations. You will have the opportunity to ask your guide any questions that you may have.
There is nothing more important than the safety of our guests and your overall experience is directly tied to this. Our goal is to show the wilderness and rivers of Colorado knowing you are in excellent, safe, experienced hands.
We do have specific age requirements for all of our trips as well as specific weight requirements. These requirements are in place for very specific safety reasons.
The staff at AVA looks forward to guiding you on amazing Colorado adventures.
